Re: Favorite water based tire gel?
It's not a gel, but I like to use the Blackfire Multi-Surface Dressing Concentrate. Works great!

The benefit to Meguair's #40 is it is a CLEANER/conditioner.
So everytime you use it - you remove the old residual dressing PLUS all the dirt, road grime etc. on the sidewall and replace it with fresh dressing.
I like this approach and tend to use different products like Meguiar's #40 - that is products that are water based and CLEANER/conditioners.
If fact, I just used this approach to the last 3 cars I detailed. I also machine applied/machine scrubbed the tires with these products. Tires come out looking amazing but results don't last that long. That's okay though, it's easy and CLEAN to repeat.
The problem with solvent and oil based tire dressings is they are difficult to get off and MESSY to get off.
I'll take short lived and clean and easy over long lasting and dirty and messy.

I myself really like Optimum Opti-Bond. And I also like Optimum Tire Shine as well. Both great products to have on hand.

Tuff Shine Clear Coat... I've had most discussed to date... stuff lasts 3 weeks minimum if the tire is cleaned properly.

I’m assuming the 3 weeks is a typo if you’re referring to Tuff Shine Clear Coat. My experience is that it easily lasts 2-3 months.
