Pinnacle surface coating
Hello,
Last year at this time I coated two cars with pinnacle paint coated. Both cars are doing great making it through the Chicago winter. I’m going to do a decon wash next week. Now that there is a sale I was thinking of getting pinnacle surface coating and use it as a topper for both cars. Will this work or do I need to polish of the coating?
Thanks

Re: Pinnacle surface coating
Using PBL Diamond Surface Coating over PBL Diamond Paint Coating is a popular pairing, one also pushed by Mike Phillips himself. I also plan to use the combo on one of our cars this spring.
At a minimum I would recommend doing an iron decontamination wash. I'd also feel the paint to see if it needs to be clayed but if you clay, you may need to do a quick polish on the paint as clay could mar the paint. Then you could put the Surface Coating right over the top, no need to polish off the old coating.
