I would lean a little more towards DLUX since you already have it and you probably don't have much plastic to address.
You may want to look at the new P&S Vue Inspiration Glass Coating. Super easy to use and it seems substantial as the applicator will harden up.
DLUX is not set it and forget it. It will need reapplication at some point. Top it up and it is good to go.
Solution Finish won't work as it won't last long once a ceramic coating is used on trim. So if the trim needs restoration then it is best to just stick with SF and a trim protectant rather than topping it with a coating.
I have not seen any issues with the trim turning ugly using DlUX. I am reapplying it once a year as it will lose its look a 12-15 months later. Optimum Hyper Polish works to remove it as it won't stain trim. It may not get everything out of the texture but it does work.
So may I ask, are you saying a re-application of CQuartz DLX will somehow rejuvenate and "cut through" a previously applied application gone bad, or will it be at such a point that such is too late? I have not tried re-application in hopes of eliminating these issues?
I'm gathering you mean to re-apply before such occurs?
I cannot honestly see any abrasive product or any polish working well on any textured black trim without further damage.
Plus it would be impossible to rectify with parts that have grooves, dips, nooks and crannies, let's say a Step Bumper Trim Pad, Recessed Door Handles, etc.

I would say to try it. As I mentioned I am usually reapply DLUX on a yearly basis on my personal cars. DLUX does lose a little of its look over the course of a year as it is completely normal.
You could try solution finish but don’t be surprised if it does not last long since you applied a coating. Chris West has touched in this many times and I have experienced it myself.
You may want to give pinnacle trim restoring coating a try as it’s a dye.

Does Gyeon Trim perform better that Dlux or is the same story (durability)? I have the opinion that both perform equal.
