FinishKare BWM-1 (FK1000p) for wheels or anything else?

One of the car has alloy wheels and another has steelies. I never cared for the wheels until now. I would just clean them and that's it. But two year old steelies are showing rust spots and I absolutely don't want that.

I am considering thorough cleaning of the wheels and applying a couple of coats of FinishKare BWM-01/FK 1000p. I wonder if its a good choice or there is anything else I can use?

    Bonus questions-
FK 425 is always discussed with FK 1000p/BWM-01. It looks like a quick detailer. If I am only going to apply it to the wheels, do I still need it?

    Thanks in advance.

Personally, I would coat the wheels with GYEON Q2 RIM. Well worth it and easy to apply. Especially good against German Brake Dust.

No experience with Gyeon, but Car Pro's Dlux has been doing a great job on my wheels (over a year).

•If the thorough cleaning of the steelies includes
fixing the rust spots (via sanding; painting; etc.)...
then, IMO, applying FK1000P afterwards would be
an excellent choice for a last step product (LSP).

{Personally, I never liked the idea of putting any
type of an LSP over/on any “unfinished” metals.
    I don’t recommend you to do otherwise.}

    •As to FK425:
-I’ve found that it can be used not only as a
complement to FK1000P, but to most other
    LSPs as well.

    You do not suck, Bob.

    Does that qualify?

I agree in coating the wheels that are in good condition.

When it comes to wheels, spray and rinse SIO2 products are as easy as it gets. Paste waxes are too much effort for me.

I thought of that but it seems these spray and rinse sealants are not very durable.

    Thank you, Bob.

I am planning to sand and paint those spots. That's the reason I thought if I am going to take that much effort, I might as well make sure that it is 'fixed' for winter.

FK425 doesn't have any protection, just a gloss enhancing detailer, right?

You are correct from my experience. I've run a spray and rinse product on my wheels for most of this summer. The protections seems to last about a week or two under daily usage. Wheels I've coated with CQuartz last multiple seasons (I swap summer/winter wheels) on one application and are noticeably easier to clean as well. You won't find that from a spray/rinse product.
