    Ceramic Coating Help

    Hey guys,

New here but have read a lot. Have a brand new Raptor (31 days out the factory to yesterday) and did full prep and applied Avalon King ix ceramic coat yesterday. This stuff is super forgiving. What could/should I do on top for water spots? They have no supporting line of products or a way to even call them.

Also what should I use if I just want to wipe the truck down between washes? Should I not use Adams quick detail spray (pink stuff) anymore?

I've detailed ONE Ford Raptor 4x4 truck.

Not sure I would want to do it again. That's a lot of real-estate.

As to your question about water spots - that's a tough problem. Maybe give IGL F4 Renew a look?

    And... welcome to AutogeekOnline!

Yes it was a job! Even being new it was many hours. Kinda don't feel like doing a second coat hehe.

Glad to be here and thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out.

The potential of water spots is there with any coating. You can get yourself any of the maintenance spray toppers that are readily available from any coating manufacturer to maintain. You can use the detail spray if you so desire. You can also look into a waterless wash like CarPro Ech2o or McKee's N914.

I would say you don't need IGL F4 at this point. That comes later to "reapair" a coating as it will fill in minor defects.

This talk about water spots...are you meaning like, immediately getting the car wet before at least a 24 cure time? Or can water spots form anytime?

Should have been more clear. I’m referring to after the coating is finished and fully cured.

The water in my city is very hard and very mineral rich so trying to do what I can to prevent water spots in the future and what will play well with Avalon King.

Also should have done a little more research on the ceramic I chose. Not fond of companies I can’t just call and ask a quick question. Their website even says it’s 1-2 days for a response to a simple question

    Got it!

Which company are you talking about regarding the slow response time, if you don't mind sharing?
