Help me achieve better results Meguiar’s wheel and tire cleaner and Meguiar’s APC

Meguiar’s wheel and tire cleaner dilution ratio 1:1 or 2:1. I did just that and my results could be better. What am I doing wrong?

***Also I’ve heard APC can stain OEM factory painted clear coated rims, is this true?***

Step 1, get rid of those iron wheel weights. You're going to need more than a non-acidic wheel cleaner for rust.

However It still don’t cut through the brake dust on our OEM black painted clear coated rims as pictured below.

I’ve heard (heard) that acidic wheel cleaners can damage clear coat on rims, that it can etch them over time. That is why I got non acidic, again that what I heard 🤷🏻#♂️

Did you allow it to dwell before scrubbing ? If so, try a little longer. Otherwise you might need to step up to something like the D140.

I always had good luck with D143, used to purchase it from autozone but I just ordered a gallon from AG last week when it was on sale...unfortunately it’s now on backorder.

I would always spray, let dwell for 2-3 minutes, use speed master brush to get the barrels, then use a dedicated mitt for the faces...worked like a champ!

Tires, spray at the same time, let dwell for 2-3 minutes then use a tire brush to agitate, rinse and move on.

I’ll be watching the thread for any tips.

Yes I spray and let sit couple minutes then agitate. Even on the black rims, I spray product let sit and then go agitate and cleans but most brake dust still remains.
