    The Last Coat Black Ice

I saw that these people came with a 14-18 month durability ceramic coating for $29.97. I wonder how good it works on gloss and durability. Judging for The Loast Coat v2.0 which was night and day from v1.0 I guess this one might be pretty good against products like Gyeon Can Coat or Carpro Cquartz Lite.

    Has anyone tried it yet?

Looks like any typical spray sealant. It won't compete with Cquartz Lite or Gyeon CanCoat. A resin based delivery application will not out perform a spray delivery "coating". CanCoat is an exception as it contains high solids in its resin.

If anything this would compete with Adams Spray Coating which is not even on the same level as CanCoat or CQ Lite. It is like comparing a polymer paint sealant and polymer spray wax. A paint sealant is going to perform better in the long run.

Thank you for the clarification Guz, now the price makes more sense.

They claim 14-18 month durability yet dont tAlk at all about whats in it. No mention of self cleaning or beading/sheeting.

I’d be very surprised if you’d get even a year on it but i have heard good things about TLC2. I’ll stick with can coat an moonlight.

Isn’t Last Coat one of those F11-type gimmicky products?

Well, I have Last Coat v2.0 on my wife's car and it performs really good, its been there for about 4 months and it still beads and sheets like crazy, granted every 2 washes I re apply it as a drying aid spraying 1 per panel, it also does a good job keeping itself clean and the gloss is really good too, its pricey but I like it.

Sounds like it might be close to a Can Coat, their web page recommends you throw the towel you used to apply it out.

Mothers said the same thing with CMX and look how well that turned out. Did not meet that 1 year claim when most were stating 3-4 months. This last coat will compete against spray sealants like CMX, Turtle Wax spray coating , Adams Spray coating, etc.. CanCoat is on another level compared to these spray "coatings".

I don't doubt the claims are over exaggerated, but Last Coat v2 was spoken of very favorably by a lot of detailers. I know some people poo on it due to the high price, but it's the same price as Reload and lasts quite a bit longer. The Black version's basically 4x the price. I wouldn't expect 4 times the longevity, but if people are getting 4-5 months out of the Last Coat V2 this should perform a decent amount better. I tend to ignore detailing products I get videos for all the time on YT, but it looks like the people behind TLC make real products. I can't comment on the high pricing as I have a cabinet with a bunch of Polish Angel, Gyeon & other brands. So I'm kinda deadened to overpaying lol. They also recommend you do an IPA wipedown before applying, which they don't for TLC. I suspect Brian from Apex will review this soon, I'm curious to see what he thinks of it.

Well, they're suggesting you toss the towel because the SiO2 will harden in it. If there's actually enough to do that, which I have no idea, it at least means the product has a decent amount of SiO2 in it.
