Removing double stick tape foam
Had a mount stuck on my dashboard which i removed. It was held down with double stick tape that had a middle foam layer. The car is a BMW 3 series E90 and I think the dash is made of a softer vinyl plastic material. Pictures attached. I've removed as much as i could but was wondering if anyone had any pointers on how to remove the remaining residue.

Re: Removing double stick tape foam
Tricky situation.
Any chemical adhesive remover would probably, or certainly attack/discolor the vinyl.
I'm far from an expert on this, but the first thing that comes to mind is heat in the form of steam.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

Try using a blow dryer or a heat gun(be careful very hot and will melt dash) . use a plastic scraper and then an old rag you can throw away. Once done use some adhesive remover or WD40 and you should be gold. Good luck

Re: Removing double stick tape foam
Except for a heat source (I’ll suggest
using a hair dryer) the below kit will
probably have everything you need to
take care of this task.
Afterwards:
Make sure to apply an interior protectant
to the entire dashboard. Meguiar’s QID;
or, perhaps even one of Sonax’s interior
products, should suffice.
Please:
•Do a “Test Spot”.
•Take your time (this isn’t a rush job).
