Are Ceramic-Infused Sealants and Detailing Products Safe to Use?
Lately I have been using ceramic-infused spray sealants and detailing sprays on my car. I love how easy it is to apply these products as well as the gloss, shine, and slickness that they produce.
That said, I do have a question/concern. Does anyone have any info on whether or not it is safe to use these products? I am not concerned about these products getting on my skin. I use rubber gloves to protect my hands and wash them thoroughly after every application. I am mainly concerned about breathing in these spray products. Of course, I avoid spraying the products anywhere near my face. But if I am able to smell the product, does that mean that a tiny bit of the product is going into my lungs? They say that you should wash microfiber towels after applying a ceramic spray sealant so that the ceramic particles do not harden in the towel. Is it possible that some of these ceramic particles are breathed in and then could they harden in your lungs?
I don't mean to alarm anyone, but I want to make sure it is safe to enjoy these ceramic-infused products.
Thank you,

Search for the SDS or Safety Data Sheets that concern you on the products you use

IMO, if you are concerned about these (or any products), simply use the appropriate mask or respirator while applying them.
Me? I don't worry about it at all.
These products were deemed safe enough for public use/distribution, have the appropriate SDS data available, and unless you blatantly misuse them for years, I highly doubt any harm will come from them.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

I’ve been preaching about the use
of proper PPE while detailing for a
very long time now.
And:
Being that there are still so many “unknowns”
out there regarding so-called ‘nano’-products...
my above PPE crusade continues.

If it were a safety issue I’d assume in this day and age with everyone quick to sue..... there’d be a generic warning on every bottle just in case.
Kinda like watch out..... this Coffees hot on cups.

If they're hazardous in general use, I better get my affairs in order...

This topic comes up often. I’ve not heard of anyone getting respiratory issues or other after or due to ceramic sprays, but if you’re concerned I would get a good mask. I’m still trying to figure a good mask for my needs.
