Layering erg different brands of wax
Is it ok to layer with different brands of wax?
For example, I have a layer of Collinite 845 on my car. Can I apply a coat of Sonax Super Liquid Wax on top of Collinite? I just want to use up remaining waxes that are taking up shelf space.
Would that harm he paint? Or would that reduce longevity of the waxes?
I'll barely drive the car during winter - maybe a couple of times per month when the roads are dry and free of salt.
Thanks in advance

IMHO:
Of course you can. And without
causing any harm to the paint.

•With the above “conditions” you’ve set forth:
-why worry about longevity?
-and it looks like it’s going to be awhile before
you use up your stockpile of waxes.

Well, these waxes are 5 years old, and I have new products that I am planning to use for my next detail - McKee's and Finish Kare. Might as well use as much of them as possible before tossing them out
I won't be detailing my weekend car until May. Although it won't be driven much (and will be hand-washed once in 3 weeks or so if weather permits), waxes still degrade over time. And the car still might come across some salt on the road if I'm not careful.

Re: Layering erg different brands of wax
You can layer products but make sure the last product doesn't contain abrasives.
Sonax Super Liquid Wax is non-abrasive but it has chemical cleaning ability. So I would recommend you apply it after 1 week of Collinite application.
This way Collinite will have enough time to properly bond to paint and Super Liquid Wax cleaning ability won't do much harm.
