Searching for the best sealant as stand alone product
I have a 2019 CWP Subaru and am looking to protect the paint. Car is a daily driver and is parked outside 100% of the time.
I am not ready to drop $1000 + to ceramic coat and am looking to wash, decontaminate it and seal it. Below are some of the sealants I am considering. Have read good reviews on all of them.
- IGL Ecocoat Premier- Significantly more costly than the other options. Limited reviews, but from what is available it seems that this lasts 5-6 months
-Blackfire Hydroseal- Cheapest and easiest to apply out of the group. Has good reviews, but not sure how long it would last.
- Carpro Hydro 2- Also has good reviews and easy application. Not sure of durability as a stand alone product.
If anyone has other opinions I am open to them as well.
Thanks in advance!

I would take a look at Sonax PNS, great sealant with great durability.

Agree with Jayfro for looking at something with greater durability since the car will sit out all the time.
I'd look at things like PNS, Collinite 845 or 476, Menzerna Powerlock, FK1000, or Wolfgang Paint Sealant which will get you six months-ish of protection. These are highly durable sealants and if you hit the car with a spray wax after each wash, you not only boost the gloss but will further extend the life of the sealant.

I’ve heard great things about IGL. But if I recall correctly it was a little pricey. I used PNS before and liked the durability, lasted about 6-8months. PNS has higher friction point to it. Other less durable sealants I’ve used were smoother similar to fresh cost of wax but didn’t last as long for example . Any product spray on rinse off like McKee’s 37 hydro blue or Hydro seal is perfect for the wheels though IMO easy to apply and easy to maintain . Best of luck!

I'm a big fan of IGL Premier and it's what I use on my personal car. And for fun I top with IGL Enhancer from time to time.

I am also a fan of the Sonax PNS, topped with BSD every other wash.

Why would a DIY coating cost $1,000?
You just spent thousands of dollars on a new vehicle that’s going to sit out in the elements 24/7. I would agree that protection should be your primary concern.
Look at the coating “light” products or better yet one of the consumer grade coatings. They really are not that hard to install.
There’s nothing wrong with a good quality sealant, but for a vehicle that’ll be kept outside a ceramic coating is really the way to go.

I believe the OP meant for a professional job.

Sonax PNS has been good to me, easy cleaning, my truck was brand new when I applied it. this was after it rained the other night, drove home from work and no water spots on the truck. with that said ive been considering using cancoat when this wears off still haven't decided yet. PNS is soooo easy to apply.

My personal favorites are Collinite 845 and Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant.
