    Tire shine driveway stains

I’ve been using megs hyper dressing for over a year now. Not sure the dilution. I take a 16oz fill it up with water and add maybe 2-5oz.
I spray on the tires and let it sit usually I will spray tires then go dry door jambs come back to rub in the dressing.

This month 3-4 people have told me no more tire shine as its leaving stains in the driveway. Each part of the ground will have a little circle where it’s not discolored from water. Mostly these people are finding when it rains you can see where the car was parked.

Im going to apply differently, just rub it in immediately. Any other tips?

Are you sure it's not the spraying that's the problem, rather than the "letting it sit" vs. "rubbing it in immediately"? I've never had this problem except when using aerosol dressings; maybe you should just use an applicator rather than spraying? The other thing to do would be to put a towel on the ground or cut out some pieces of cardboard to put down to mask the driveway.

I’m not sure it’s anything. I do know it creates like a crescent moon under the tires so I assume it’s the stuff running down.

Idk when I would rub it in immediately I feel like when it dries it’s patchy, when I leave it sit it absorbs nice into the pourous rubber.

Crescent moon sounds like overspray--try using a tire swipe or other applicator to apply instead of spraying, and see if that helps.

Exactly. Use a tire swipe or and old sponge to apply. You'll save a ton of product too.

Spray Hyper Dressing into a flag tipped brush then brush it into the tire. I guarantee It’ll solve your problem + no overspray.

It's making the surface of the concrete hydrophobic. So it's not really a stain but what ever LOL.

Like others have said, just spray into your applicator and apply, you won't get dripping that way. I love Adam's applicator. Tried several applicators over the years and that one is the closest to perfection I have found. It is the right size and grip and it applies products very well. Regardless of what applicator you use, 4 or 5 sprays into the applicator is usually enough to do a tire. After it has soaked in for a few minutes, you can buff with a microfiber towel to make it look perfect.

Very nice idea! I'm going to try that. I have those curved spongy applicators but they are a pain to use. The brush looks like a winner.

I gotta see if my brush that looks similar to the one in the photo will work. Otherwise I suppose that exact one is available from Autogeek.

It’s for sure worth getting one to apply dressing.

I kept seeing eldorado2k posting about doing it that way for awhile before I ordered a new brush and used my old one for applying tire dressing.

Applying tire dressing after every wash irritates me, but using that brush to apply it is probably the easiest/fastest way I’ve ever experienced.

    10/10 highly recommend.
