Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Finished this new truck up this morning. The owner wanted to coat this soft black paint before any more damage could be inflicted upon it. He read on Reddit that two coats are best so he paid for two coats of Mohs. Even though my garage is not climate controlled and the humidity and temp kept rising throughout the day, the application was as easy as you could want a coating application to go.

What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

The boat was in its normal parking spot in his driveway.

I drove the truck to my driveway that way I didn’t have to haul my buckets & stuff over there to wash it.

This is what I used on the boat. Scrub Ninja on all the vinyl interior.

That is a beautiful truck. It is always rewarding to work on a new vehicle and remove the mistakes from the "dealer prep".
I believe in treating everybody with respect, and clean cars. That’s what I believe in.

Can’t blame the dealership for these defects. The owner’s son works at Auto Bell and gave it a “premium” wash using all the on the job training he received.

I always bring my customers back and show them how to do a proper car wash. He is adamant that his son will also be in attendance.

Speaking of learning how to properly wash a car…

There are several locations around Anchorage where there is a charity car wash almost every weekend all summer; usually church groups or sports teams, etc raising money

I have idly thought about how funny it would be to park a mobile paint correction rig next to them and put up a big banner that says “now get out of your car, look at your paint, and come see me”

Ha, Mike Phillips has a thread on here from a long time ago where he suggests if you want to help the charity, drive up, park, pay for the car wash, and drive away (skipping the wash).

I took the 4Runner through the tunnel wash

I had to push buttons to raise and lower my window and push buttons to enter my wash code

    I’m exhausted

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I noticed that whatever trim dressing I used previously was wearing out. I can't remember what I used last time, but I decided to go with Mother's CMX Trim Restore and Coat. I didn't want anything dark and glossy, with heavy dew every morning I'm more interested in hydrophobicity. I wiped all the trim over with ONR first, then applied the CMX, and buffed off the residue.

While I had it inside I gave the paint and glass a wipe over with Carpro Ech2o, still my favourite QD, and I'm still on my first bottle.
