Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

    A little headlight restoration.
I did the Spar Urethane years ago and it's held up decently, but needed a refresh.

Sanded with 600 and 1000, then a layer of 50/50 spar and mineral spirits.

Not perfect, but improved. The passenger side turned out much better.
At some point I'll do full restoration with some clearcoat.

Pictures below are passenger side before, during, after and then both complete. The final pic is a little deceiving because the passenger side had some daylight reflection.

    Lots of real estate.
Used the last cut followed by Ultimate finish. The airless sprayer worked phenomenal on the wells.

After staring at this deal for a month I went ahead and pulled the trigger. I figure with selling my 650, which is only 4 months old, the cost to me is about $200 for two batteries and the top of the line blower. Or maybe I’ll keep both blowers and Jerryrig an Ego jetpack.

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I put the back seat bases back into the FJ, so I had to clean the floor that's been hiding under the folded seat backs for at least 4 years. Vacuumed then wiped everything over with TWHS Inside Job, it was only dust and dog hairs, and one sticky spot which I have no idea what it was, but Inside Job removed it without any difficulties, I did not do a taste test on the sticky spot.

In the second pic, at the top left, you can see where the back door locks in, it is at the perfect height to smack my head on, twice right in the middle of my forehead, M##### F#####!!!

Good call. Are you going to order the Ego stubby nozzle as well?

I am the type that has the voices in my head to always reach for the 'better' choice. The 650 was the top when I got mine. They dropped the 765 and I was vibrating to get it... with my 650 working great. I held off and a buddy got the 765 for his cars. Side by side, there is very little performance difference chasing water. I will say the 765 seems quieter... or smoother in noise. I felt better trying both at the same time that I can save some cash and feel happy with my 650 for now.

The 650 does everything I need and does it very well but I can always use more batteries. That's my only reason for buying. And at some point I plan on buying the Ego generator just to have a nice backup system when the power goes out in winter and now I'll have enough medium and large batteries to effectively power it. And there are also the tax benefits since I get to write it off as a business purchase.

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Spent some time Friday evening giving it a good wash for Cars and Coffee the next morning. Even swapped out the all weather floor mats for the carpeted ones now that winter is behind us.

Then I promptly reconfigured the car for autocross and got it dirty again on Sunday. Oh, well...
