What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Do you find yourself using the handle on the Ryobi? Reason I ask is that you can get a better hold of the machine without that loop handle in the way, making it easier to "steer". I used the handle on my old corded polisher but wished I had removed it from the beginning, my technique improved when I started using the battery ShineMate's which don't come with the handle.

I don't actually use the handle that much, part of the time I was actually using it single handed, like in the pic, because I'm so staunch, lol. Actually it was because I was standing on the back tyre to get extra reach over the roof and I was hanging on with the other hand, it's a knee killer falling off those tyres. I'm going to take it off because it does make it difficult to get around protrusions like the mirrors, taillights, and snorkel, and I preferred using the top grip, but then the handle was getting in the way.

After yesterday's wash and polish, I applied NV Lustre late last night, then layered NV Jet on top this afternoon. The tyres were completely undressed after being power washed yesterday, so I put a very light spray of Meg's Hyper Dressing (4:1) on them, I do like a very natural rubber look.

After a stormy day Tuesday, the EN needed a wash, so after work I got after it️

I reached for DIY Detail RW, RW wash sponge, my IK sprayer, a couple drying towels, universal mf for the tires & wheels as well as a used grout sponge for the tire and wheel cleaning

I also cleaned and applied this MOBIL1 decal, OEM for older C4 Corvettes IIRC, where the cheap, peeling Shell Hyundai recommends sticker was peeling. This is a high quality piece and while I don't use 5w30, it looks amazing️

After 10 years (and 1 day), I finally decided to polish the 'piano scratch' plastic on my 14 Explorer. This is one of the back C pillars. I did 2 steps on the 2 rear and I just hit all the other places with just polish. Even just the polish made a noticeable difference.

Pairs of pictures (hopefully the order is correct) Before, after microfiber and Megs UC and final after white pad and Megs UP. Not perfect, but way better.

Took my g/f's Cruze to the touch-free wash and used a mix of DIY Detail Incredible Suds and Griot's Garage foaming surface prep to pre-wash the car

Once home I noticed the lower sections still had road film, so I used my bottle of DG WW to make it right

So my daughter wants to go for a ride tomorrow to hear "the loud pipe", so I decided to wash the EN today

It was dirty from the all day rain we had Thursday so I reached for Griot's Garage Ceramic Rinseless Wash. It's about 44 degrees and sunny but this product works well, even though it's cool outside

Once done with the wash I cleaned the tires & wheels with the leftover solution, also wiped down the engine bay and took out the d/s WeatherTech and cleaned it, stuff works on everything ️

I then vac'd out the interior, wiped the inside windshield and let Kendall pick the scent for the interior...she chose Griot's Garage Stinky Be Gone Redline Cherry, VERY good smell
