Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I finished up a complete detail on this Toyota 4Runner. It had a pet hair situation including a rank smell coming from a mystery area that I nor the customer could pinpoint.

So I decided to go HAM straight out the gate and gut the damn thing! Lol.

If I had to bet I’d put my money on the culprit being a dog, because there’s no freaking way a cat could ever smell as bad as this interior did… But once I was done there wasn’t a single strand of that stinkin dog visible anywhere, and that stench was as gone as you could ask for considering how old the vehicle was. I finished it up by using a Meguiars New Car Scent Air Refresher to fog it out and it did it’s job.

Meanwhile, as I was busy detailing the interior, 1 of my cats was busy doing what he does best, which is being a lazy cat who lives the good life of eating and sleeping… Never missing his chance on top of never before seen car interior/seats/matts. Never fails with this lazy cat! Lol.

    Gitter dun!
Meguiars APC to clean the carpet & interior, LATA to clean the seats.

Clayed the paint using Megs Professional Aggressive Clay. 1 step polish using Griots Correcting Cream. Hyper Dressing on the tires & trim.

And this 4Runner has been officially restored and looking better than ever. What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I opened the hood on the '11 Camaro today*... & instantly regretted it. Then I remembered driving about 3 or 4 miles down a High Desert dirt road a couple of weeks ago

An hour of rags (yes, sacrificed a few more of the shop rag quality MF's), assorted squirty stuff, Horrible Fright 1 & 2in bristle brushes, shop vac with various doodads on the business end etc & I have it looking decent again. Even attached one of the small brush doodads intended for sucking PopTart remnants out of your keyboard to get the snarge out of nooks & crannies. Put some shiny stuff on the tires.
    It's all tickety boo now.

What it really needed was taking outside, spraying it down under there with *something* & a hose etc. That will happen next time.

*I was at the smog test place, it passed, getting the new '23 tag later from the vending machine at Albertsons supermarket. Have to wait a couple of hours for the computer system to update to say the car passed.

The wife’s Buick got full paint correction finished with a coat of Collinite 476 (thanks Rog). It was easy to apply and easy to remove. Let’s see how long it lasts.

Ran the ES through Delta Sonic for its free wash today after work. Once I got home I applied some Adam's graphene tire dressing and brought in my detailing crates from the trunk...yep, it's that timeWhat did you do today, in regards to detailing?

    Well that's just great...

Was coming home a couple of hours ago, truck up ahead dropped a bag of cement in the road, car ahead of me nailed it & I drove through a big grey cloud... Glad it wasn't raining

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?

I'm a person who values some quiet solitude. With the house empty today save for me and the pup, I put my noise cancelling headphones on and blocked out the world. Three cars needed attention today.

After a late night bug squashing crusade, the Jag was first in line today. With a quality sealant on the paint, most of the bugs disappeared after the initial pressure rinse, the rest removed with CarPro Reset.

While I had a flirt with it on Sunday, this was the first real trial of P&S Paint Gloss, used as a Drying Aid on the Jag, Mustang and Ranger today.

I have been using Meguiar's Last Touch for a long time to fill me Quick Detailer needs, however I think I might prefer Paint Gloss better. I only bought a 473ml bottle to trail but I think I'll be ordering a gallon to replace Last Touch. Paint Gloss is marginally cheaper than Last Touch too.
