Got out the Menzerna to polish up an old Nintendo DS game to recycle for my grandson. Polishing really is an addiction lol

So my buddy Hectour is changing the oil in the ES, 4 quarts of Motul X8100 5w40, 1 quart of 104+ Turbo Guard oil additive and a Wix filter. While that's going on I'm going to wash his 79' Rx-7 that he got caught in the rain in going out to Rockford to Blackhawk Farms race track, so it needs a wash. The white wheels are dirty, no problem for P&S Brake Buster and the new IK Foam Pro2...let do this!

Ok....so I scrubbed the tire with 303 Tire and Rubber cleaner, then foamed them as well as the wheels down with P&S Brake Buster @5:1, let dwell a bit and scrubbed down with the Speed Master and rinsed, let them air dry. I then did a WW using N914 and I'll say this, the coating I laid down last year, along with the fresh coat of IGL Premier I laid down in the late spring is doing great because he drove through a massive downpour for 20 mins yesterday and only the very back of the car was "a little dirty", amazing! I finally dried the leftover water from the tires and wheels and applied 2x's OPT tire coating to the tires, first a good base coat and by the time I was done doing all 4 I then applied a 2nd, lighter coat to ensure coverage.

Its freakin' hot out here, even in the shaded garage

New cars and coffee in the NW burbs of Chicagoland, first time at this one and it was a really good time, lots of things I hadn't seen before, case in point that blue AutoZam! How about the 911T with the 1552's on it that I call "X-ray Fuchs". A couple RHD cars here today, like the silver Subie for instance. The green Alpina B7...yes, GREEN and how about the mid 80's 635CSi too!

BRG Lotus Elise...YES YES YES! Just wanted to bring up a couple but I also got to see the new Supra inperson, upclose and even though I saw it at the Chicago Auto Show being right there on it I have to admit I was wrong, its stunning "in the metal", still wish it had a Toyota drivetrain There were a couple gen IV's there as well but I digress, enjoy the pics

Decided to clean up the GTI today. It was driven last night in the rain for about 15 minutes. Just enough to get a bit dirty.

Sprayed the wheel wells with 3D Citrus Degreaser and foamed the wheels with Brake Buster and the IK Foam Pro. Big fan. Let dwell and scrubbed the tires and cleaned up the wheels and wells.

Also gave the polished tips a good cleaning with Meguiars Ultimate Wheel Cleaner and 0000 steel wool. A while back I was accidentally sent Meguiars Hot Wheels metal polish and used it today for the first time. Not perfect but the tips now look pretty good.

Did a RW with ECH2o. Finished the tires with PERL.

An amazing thing happened today...I worked 8 hrs, LOL. I had some time before I picked up our daughter so I decided to hit the quarter carwash which is right up the street from her school. It's been quite some time since I've used the self-serve, this one was $2.50 per cycle, so $5.00 total for the soap and rinse/salt-free rinse. I foamed the tires and wheels using the IK Foam Pro2 and Brake Buster, then put the money in and got after it. Upon initial soaping the beading was CRAZY! Then I rinsed the car off with regular rinse water and then switched over to the spot-free rinse cycle to finish up, once again the beading here, MY GOD I dried the car with the Sucker and Griot's Garage waffle weave towel for the windows. Lastly I dried the tires and wheels but used Collinite QD to get the designated mf towel damp for the tires and wheels. I have to say the OPT tire coating is unbelievable, truely

Later on I'm going down to the garage to vac it out and probably spray something in the interior BTW I remember when the quarter carwash cycle was .75 cents, damn I'm getting old
