I think if you have a habit of pre rinsing before you do a rinseless, there really wouldn’t be anything to worry about.
That being said, I did just clean a butt ton of pollen off my car without inducing any marring I could see.
My only real complaint about the sponge is that it doesn’t really fit under my door handles very well, which leads me to kind of push it up in there which I don’t like. But other than that it’s grown on me. It seriously releases dirt like nothing else.
It’s really nice to not have a whole bunch of wet towels after I’m done. All I needed was one waffle weave and that blue creature edgeless, which I started going behind the waffle weave with after about 70% of the car had been washed, to dry and that was it.

How much is a "Butt ton" ?
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.

I think if it was all condensed it would make approximately one bouillon cube. One butt ton of pollen = one bouillon cube.

It sounds like the start of a very unpleasant soup.

The perfect weapon against someone, like myself, with allergies that have been kicking their butt the last few weeks.

Yeah I get optimum makes good products and sure they wouldn’t introduce if didn’t work but I just don’t get how the dirt gets into the little crevices.
Finick, I know you use it a lot. Do you think it induces less marring than MF towels or better yet micro fiber chenille mitts. I tend to use those most (about 8 per wash). for rinseless or bucket. I feel they would do best job of tucking away dirt in medium from paint. Not looking for easy... looking for best.

Because when you 1st unbox it it’s dry and feels rough as hell... I’m guessing that’s why.

I’d say at this point it doesn’t seem to do any more harm than I feel like I’ve seen my towels do in some rare cases where I’m being particularly negligent and lazy.
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen Yvan do it in videos, but I just kind of started pinching the back of it as I’m going across a panel, to open up the face of the other side. I kind of rock it as I go back and forth so that each part of the surface touches the panel I’m cleaning.
With the amount of pollen that was on my car, I did big sections like my roof and hood in 4 sections to be a little safe. So I’d use the first side to pick up the bulk of the dirt, and then flip it and just quickly (and with less grace since product is on the surface) go over the sane section again.
If you’re really interested in trying it but are hesitant, I’d say just pick one up and use it to exclusively wash like... your trunk lid for awhile. Or whatever panel you choose. That way if you notice any marring, it’s just isolated to that one panel and its a quick fix.
