I'll be looking forward to the opinion on DIY's tire dressing. I have it sitting in my basement unopened. So far it's the one product in their line that I've heard mixed reviews.
I'm actually considering adding a couple of the DIY red jeweling pads to my DIY Gold Polish & Pads system and using that system for my fall cleanup soon.

It's actually not bad and IMO would be great for engine bay dressing and wheelwells, it's not ready to make my line up of tire dressings, no way as it's a tough group️

Thanks! It’s Rainforest Green Metallic, they only offered it two years on Chevrolet trucks (2014-2015). I forget the GMC color name. I searched for a long time to find that color when I bought it used. I’m a sucker for GREEN trucks

Thank you JDGolden! I get compliments on the green color all the time. I just want a ride in your Z28 for nostalgia sake!

after decades since release, there is a lot of nostalgia every time I drive it. It’s not perfect but that’s ok. I used to ride my bike to the local Chevy/Pontiac dealer (they sold both) and drooled over the Camaro/Firebird lineup back when they were brand new.

Re: What did you do today, in regards to detailing?
I had to deal with some bird crap, and it's hot here today, 90f with 13% humidity, so not unpleasant, but better off inside. Ended up wiping down the whole thing with Ech2o, the gloss is so addictive.
And because I had it in the garage, I cleaned the inside glass as well, it's almost pointless to do it out in the sun. I used Krystal Klear Bubble Gum Blitz. Strangely I've been smelling it every time I went into the garage for the last couple of days, I discovered the nozzle on the sprayer had been weeping. I removed it, wiped it down, put it back on, seems fine, I guess it just wanted some attention.

The other is very subjective but even with the awkwardness I perceive on lower vertical surfaces the Griots sponge seems to “stick” to the paint more than the TRC sponge and to me it has much more tactile feedback, which I consider vital in any claying process
The TRC sponge skipped over crap that the Griots subsequently removed and I didn’t even feel what it missed until the panel was dried and baggy tested
After I did the baggy test and went back over the same area with the Griot’s sponge I could easily detect most of the contaminants the TRC sponge missed, and with the Griots sponge I could get most of them off, and then get the stragglers with the actual clay

Yeah my favorite synthetic clay product (griots) may try one of their mitts next..

Opie checked on me a while back because I had been off the forum for so long and I will tell you what I told him
I got a VERY mean PM last spring from a fairly new member who went off on me for...
1) hogging the "what did you do today regarding non-detailing" thread (as if that's possible)
2) showing off and bragging about my new house in the above mentioned thread
3) saying something negative about Mike Phillips
I was absolutely floored to be attacked like that by someone I don't know and had never even had harsh words with
I wasn't going to dignify the idiot with a response and I simply deleted the PM and chalked it up to experience
But
It came at a time when there was also a LOT of political rancor on the forum and both together just caused me to take a self imposed time out
I enjoy the forum 99% of the time and normally have a pretty thick skin but it was just too much
I really appreciated Opie reaching out to me and I appreciate you asking about the house
I am trying to ease back in to the forum but I am still a bit gun shy
Yeah I think a lot of members appreciated your post and either got ideas or lived vicariously through you.
F what anyone in the internets got to say hate wise. Also remember it’s how people who are just negative in nature express their emotions. Thin line between love and hate.
Hopefully dudes gone or got an attitude adjustment.
No need to ease back. Your post have been helpful and positive. Dive right in.
Also that guy didn’t post his opinions in a forum because he woulda got eviscerated by the rest of us.
Welcome back and don’t you leave us again!

I remember when I got my first order of DIY products, you mentioned that the tire dressing was good, not great. I would probably agree with that after using it a few times now.
The runny liquid makes it very easy to distribute and delivers a consistent, uniform look. That runny consistency makes it ideal for use with a flagged tip brush on larger truck and SUV tires. However, I would best describe it as a "workhorse" product, it doesn't do anything wrong, but it doesn't make you go WOW.
