    Just found out water based paint?

    I called the body shop guy who painted and cleared my hood, he told me they used water based paint, and not to do nothing to it for 30 days, the thing is i already applyed jescar top finish machine glaze, it says silicone free and safe for all paint areas. So i am hoping it will be safe enough for the paint to cure or gas off.

    Safe for use in paint areas is different than using it on uncured paint. Hopefully you'll be ok, but you did exactly what you aren't supposed to do on a new paint job.

    Who advised you to put anything on a car that was just painted a couple days ago?

    Hopefully since it's a glaze and not a sealant or wax it won't cause any I'll effects to the paint.

    Don't worry! Cars are sanded, de-nibbed, polished, etc as soon as they're painted. You just need to stay away from silicone and wax type products. When I worked in a body shop we used a "breathable" 3M glaze after painting

    The product was "Developed for use in...collision repair shops to provide the final finishing touch..." -Jescar website

    My best guess is that it's similar to 3M glaze.

    You should be fine

    edit: huh. Just learned that Jescar has their own line of buffing pads (1 MF and 2 foams)

    Pretty hip that the painter is
    using low(er) VOC paints for
    aftermarket painting projects.

    Might be required by the state he operates in.
