Anyone ever hear of dragon flies causing damage to a car that’s sitting in the driveway? Attachment 64880

Why don't you try using TapTalk app and upload the photo from there. In the meantime can you describe the damage?

Bugs in general if not cleaned off a vehicle in a proper amount of time will break down. The proteins and acids will start to etch into clear-coat, much like bird droppings. Now if you're talking a dent or scratch, I could not imagine even the largest dragon fly causing a dent or a scratch.

If it were a bird? Yes, very possible to cause damage... especially if it's a large bird.

    Owner claims he witnessed it.

What did he witness? Dragonflies on his hood? How many? What did they do?

I can 100% accept that he has seen dragonflies on his hood. But I have trouble believing that the damage was caused by them, and that the owner has actually witnessed that process.

I have had a car here that dragonflies loved to land and rest on. But I've never seen a single tiny scratch ever, that I could have attributed to them. The car was full off insect remnants, but not a single scratch, ever.

But then again, maybe these dragonflies had the rabies, or something
