Black Silverado 1 Step
Just getting into detailing my own vehicles. Currently own a 2017 Black Silverado. Truck has some very light swirls and scratches. Thinking of going with HD speed for correction.
Will be using a GG 6” orbital with 5” backing plate. What LC foam pad would be the best to use or what would be a good starting point. Thanks in advance.

Test spots will determine the pad/product combo. So stock up on plenty of pads, and test, test, test. Test spots are the best method to determine approach. We can only speculate on the forums! Have fun and good luck. But always have cutting pads and polishing pads, 5-7 of each!
Back to the full-time grind.

Re: Black Silverado 1 Step
First off, Welcome to AGO!
Secondly..... The GG6 w/ 5" BP is all you need for your task. Awesome choice. I can't speak as to GM paint, but I'm sure Speed will do the job, and you will me more than happy. I Love Speed for its working time, sun-friendly nature, low dusting and performance.
As said above, try different pad combos, but I'm a fan of Lake Country Flat pads, and more recently their Thin Pro line.
It is no coincidence that man's best friend cannot talk.
