Is it ok to top HD Speed with a sealant?

This past weekend I did a maintenance detail on the black Denali that I polished with HD Speed 4 weeks prior.

So it’s been 4 weeks and pretty much everything that was good about HD Speed was no longer around. For example the beading was all but gone on the horizontal panels,

And the beading that was there on the vertical panels was nothing to write home about... The paint had lost all of its initial smoothness [trying to dry the vehicle without a drying aid was not going to happen] And worst of all, the hood had somehow developed etching all over it in the form of what looked like water spots.

It was kind of hard to take a picture of them.

I was able to remove them about 85% by using a claybar.

But not good enough to make me happy, so I had to break out the polisher w/M205 to get the paint back to perfect.. This experience has me thinking I should’ve never trusted HD Speed to protect [even in the short term]

So my question: Is it ok to top HD Speed with a sealant immediately after polishing with it? I think I’ve heard people say they like to use this in place of a normal polish, so what’s the official word? And no I’m not about to do an IPA wipedown after I polish, so that would be out of the question.

Been a while since I used HD SPEED. However, I have applied Megs fast finish and a week later applied Fusso wax on top. I have not seen or experienced any issues. Try a test spot and decide

I’ve read numerous people topping it with Poxy right after and enjoying the results. Poxy doesn’t last too long either though. Not sure if using a longer lasting sealant on top would last close to the sealant’s true longevity or if that would just fail in a month because of the Speed wearing away underneath?

Whenever I use HD Speed, I quickly top with UFF. Have had no issues with streaking or anything.

I have put a coat of I845 or 915 on top in the past. Tried to stick with something that had wax in it. I have switched to M37 360 because of how little durability HD Speed has. The M37 HD Paint sealant seems to last quite well on top of it.

M37 High Def on top of 360, or on top of Speed?

I switched to M37 HD on top of 360 for most of my AIO jobs. I have not repurchased any more HD Speed. Its is definitely a nice finishing polish, but I wanted the protection to last longer and not have to guess what worked well on top of it.

If I need more cut or there is a bit of oxidation to remove I will use the Menz 3-n-1 AIO.

I polished with 360 on my dad’s car 3 days ago, no topper. I told him to let me know next time he sees no beading after a rain. Hopefully I’ll have upstate NY longevity to report back eventually.
