    Removing wax

Had to get my trunk and hood repainted about 7 months ago, wanted to reapply my vinyl strips on the hood, I used some 70/30 rubbing alcohol , seems to work ok, so I did the front stripes, mentioned this to a guy today and he said that could cause damage because the paint isn't that old.............so I'm wondering what you guys are using to remove wax, which I don't have that much on anyways..........

Found this in my basement, its pretty old, cant even remember when I used the liquid glass last..........would this be ok to use, I only need to remove about a 7 inch amount on the trunk for a tail stripe.

Do I need to dilute the rubbing alcohol if I use that.......

    Thanks for any help here.

Surely to goodness, after seven months, the
respray has sufficiently cured to the point where
properly applying some vinyl stripes won’t harm
    the aforementioned respray.

Hey Fun, I figured the paint would be ok, I just need to remove the wax I have on it now to apply the vinyl graphics.........it says to remove the wax before you apply the graphics.............just no mention of what to use though.

Polish would for sure take it off. Soft pad as well. Any APC or IPA or MS will do the trick as well I'd say...

    X2 on the 3M GPAC.

I've been a fan of this stuff for 20+ years.

    And completely clearcoat safe.

Second the 3m. As with any chemical don't let it dry on the paint. Wait a little time so it can desolve the wax and wipe it off. To be sure do 2 applications and after wipe down let it evaporate for at least 15 minutes before applying the vinyl stripe.

How about a product like Simple Green? Use it to get rid of grease and it's biodegradable.
