Mid winter warm weekend...need quick suggestion.

It's been unusually cold here since I bought this car right around Christmas. It's a 2010 and needs a little paint love. I plan on doing a major correction process in spring but want to take advantage of this warmer weekend and do what I can.

The car is a BMW 335i in LeMans Blue. It has swirls, light scratches, water spots and some light overspray on a section of it.

I'll have to stick with what I have on hand and products I can purchase at my local auto parts store due to time.

My plan was first to give it a good hand wash using Meguiar's Deep Crystal Car Wash(on hand), then follow it up with Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax(on hand) using the Mother's Speed Clay 2.0 pad(available locally).

Does this sound like a suitable plan? Is the "wax" in the Ultimate Wash & Wax enough for a short while until spring? I will wash it several times between now and then with the same stuff. Or, will the Speed Clay pad make additional work necessary? I haven't worked with it, but it looks like people are washing with it and it doesn't require polishing afterwards.

    Any other suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks.

What do you mean by applying the Meg’s UWW using the speed clay pad? Am I reading that right?

Waxing certainly won’t hurt and claying, in whatever form, will keep you from further inflicting damage when you hand wax.

The Speed Clay 2.0 pad isn't actually a clay, more of a Nanoskin type of foam pad. They're claim is "Clay as you wash" using it instead of the traditional towels/rags/mitts.

Part 2 of Mother's how to video shows the steps I'm talking about. Wash once with soap and towel, wash and "clay" again using the pad, rinse and dry.

Got it. That description, to me, read like you were going to apply the wax with the speed clay.

Wash, clay using whatever medium you desire, and then wax is fine.
