    2018 Tundra Questions

    I plan on detailing a friends 2018 "Super White' Tundra next weekend and a few questions;
    1) I have read it may be clear coated it may not be? Anyone know for sure
    2) I'll start with the least aggressive to see what I can do. I have Meguirs 205, Griot's Boss Products, McKees Jeweling and varios BS and Griot's pads in 5" and 3"
    3) LSP including Collinite, FK100 and McKees Hi-Def Sealant. Ever enough PA Viking left.
    So hard or soft, clear or not any pitfalls to look for?

    Morning. I'm no pro like some of these folks but I did read somewhere on here that white Toyota paint may be single stage paint. Nonetheless we did it's little brother with 3D HD Speed with some orange Thin Pros topped with Collinite 476S and it was pretty easy to correct. It was metallic gray though. Good luck. Big truck!...

    If it's cleared, and the clear is anything like my 2013, it is soft and corrects easily. HD Speed combined with a BOSS orange pad should get you where you want to be.

    I did one about a month back and used fast polish then topped with fk1000p. Fast and easy job with no hang ups. Used my GG6 with orange flat pads

    Thanks again, I have the Boss 15 and GG6 and orange. I think I'll top with FK1000, for me it has always lasted longer than Collonite

    Not trying to sidetrack here, but if HD Speed is an AIO.. why use another coat of wax on top ?

    While I normally always agree fk1000p will last much longer then the sealant in speed. I'd personally use a Polish and then seal unless it's just a quick job then just speed it

    To be honest, nothing wrong with hd speed but since you have McKees paint sealant, it'd be a shame to not use it. I suggest trying half water half m205. Full strength 205 might be too aggressive for Toyota paint if it's in good condition. If it's not, 205 and spritz the panel with some water right before you polish, and then use McKees paint sealant after.
