Wow that would be very gracious. If you wouldn't mind I would love the try the 360 ! What pad would you recommend to get the most cutting out of it. The Harbour Freight has a 6" backing plate. I may switch it out to a different size plate, once i get it i will have to see if it looks wobbly like some of the reviews state.

thanks, I just sent you a message.

This may be a dumb question but if I am buying a new backing plate, most that I see are 5" or 6", but most pads are either 5.5" or 6.5".. do I get a .5" size larger pad than the backing plate or how does that match ?

6.5" pad goes on a 6" backing plate...5.5" pad goes on a 5" backing plate

    Re: Help with detail steps

I would recommend getting a 5” backing plate, then get 5 or 5.5” pads. The smaller throw machines like the Porter cable, harbor freight, and GG 6” machine respond well to the slightly smaller pad. It ends up correcting more efficiently, so even though it’s a smaller pad you can get the job done quicker.

I like the Griots 5” vented backing plate. The threads are the same on your HF so it would work on your machine.

Also worth noting are the thinner pad options that help maintain pad rotation vs the thicker pads that absorb more of the energy.
