    CQUK curing

hey folks, im coating a car with CQUK, im waiting 1 min 30 sec before buffing it off its only about 15 celcius in my garage. not too grabby not too oily. when buffing off i'm using a first buff off suede towel, then i follow up with another fresh suede towel, followed with a slogger towel. look all good untill i use my LED flashlight of my phone. it looks smeary and streaky. Will this cure overtime ? cus the streaks just move around if i buff

    thanks

Possible you are not waiting long enough before wiping? When I did my UK, I waited longer. If I remember correctly, I waited more than 5 min.

You're not waiting long enough, smearing means too soon and grabby is too late. Do a test spot with different removal times before you do the whole car

Thanks waiting 4 minutes left almost no streaks, also very gentle buffing with a boa fixed the first smears i made. Is reload a must after a coating or can i apply a sealant aswell?

With UK I generally wait 5 minutes before wipe off and theres no smearing. I use Reload diluted 1:1 an hour after wipe off.

I would stick with an SIO2 product which CQuartz and Reload are.

Reload is recommended to protect cquartz while it is curing over the next few days. Stick with reload.

    Re: CQUK curing

Good advice here. I would consider reapplying to those areas where you wipe off after 1 min. There may not be much product remaining. 15C is right in the temp zone for Cquartz UK and I've had good results with it around that temp.

    Re: CQUK curing

I would not apply anything after uk. Reload is quite frankly a subpar product compared to what's underneath. I would suggest just letting it cure and bake it in the sun as often as you can.

    Re: CQUK curing

I will expand more on my comment. But I believe it is recommended to apply reload if the vehicle is going to be exposed to rain during the curing time over the week to avoid water spotting on the actual coating itself.
