    "Scratches" on the Display Screen?

Since we picked up my wife's "new to her" car we noticed that there some sort of a smeared/dirty film on the vehicle's display screen. The morning it was really bugging me so I got things cleaned off. The pictures show what was found underneath. You could slightly notice this under the film/filth but now that the screen is clean it's really evident.

If I had to guess (and it is strictly a guess) there is a protective coating of some kind over the plastic cover that was scratched when someone repeatedly poked away at the screen thinking it was a touch screen (it's not).

Ideas or suggestion on how to fix or at least make this look better?

    Thank you in advance.

That almost looks irreparable... What kind of vehicle is it?

Perhaps this what happened.....and a potential fix or two. It would appear that there is already a TSB out on this issue, so I’ll be calling the dealer. If that doesn’t go well I’ll remove this coating completely. I hope this was helpful to someone here.

Both my truck ( GMC ) and the wifes car ( Cadillac ) have touch screens and the CUE system in the Cadillac shows every finger print which is a major gripe about this system . What can be used safely to clean these types of screens ?
One thing I learned a long time ago is never use a paper towel to clean the plastic cover for gauges . It will scratch them up in a
New York minute . I had an old Pontiac Grand Prix that I did this to and there was no fixing it .

Try Mothers ReVision Glass & Surface Cleaner w/microfiber towel. Spray the towel and wipe clean.

Don't replace anything unless it looks like OP.

I can't believe that's a 2015 Lexus... No offense, but it looks so cheap.

That nav screen looks super cheap, yes. Just look at those graphics... Reminds me of my old Nokia phone. Lol.
