    Spot

So my MIL has a spot on her minivan. It was originally about twice as big.
She tried to get it off (she said it was 'something sticky) with glass stove top cleaner and a 'non-scratch' scrubbing pad, which made it worse.
She said she paid someone to buff it and it is better than it was.
I cleaned the area really well and ran my finger across the area and there is a discernible 'dip' in the surface of the clear coat.

    HERE

Any ideas if there's anything that can be done?

    Thanks

Can you get a close up of the area? How old is the car?

    Fixed the link. It's a 2012 Sienna.

Looks like clear coat failure, although it didn't fail on it's own.

Maybe, maybe not, but it looks like most of the clear coat has been abraded.

See if your MIL can get hold of the guy that polished that spot and see if any color came off. If it did, you need a re paint.
