How to remove water spots from black Toyota paint?

    Hi all

I have a black Toyota that has water spotting on the hood and would like to remove them.

I tried using CarPro Spotless but it did nothing.

Are there any other products I could try or has the water spotting etched in too far that it needs to be cut and polished?

Any compound/polish and pad combo recommendations for black Toyota soft paint would be great!

3D Eraser Gel would be the next step. If that doesn't do it then Start with a polish like Meg's Ultimate Polish/M205, etc.

Do I need to machine polish or can I use the Megs M205 by hand application?

I would machine polish. You'll get way better results. From there if polish doesn't work, then Ultimate Compound followed by polish. I would definitely give 3D Eraser Gel a try though. Make take 2 applications but it's usually done the trick for me on hard water stains on glass.

If I apply 3D Eraser Gel will it strip the existing wax/sealant/coating?

Wax / Sealant yes, coating, not likely. It's targeted at dissolving minerals. I would suggest a decent coating topper that is paired with your coating. If you have coating, just re-coat the panels where needed. Most likely it's just the horizontal areas. Works great on glass too. Scrub glass with the Gel and a magic eraser. Just make sure you rinse glass off after 1 minute. Do not let it sit on glass more than 1 minute. On paint, again, it may take 1-2 applications.
