    New advise on pads.

    Hi,

Need some advise on the type of pads i should be using. I currently have a Griots 6" random orbital with 6" & 5" backing plates. I have been using Lake County CCS & Smart pads for years, replacing old ones with new ones as they get old. I have 3 german cars that I have gotten swirl free and just maintain usually once a year. My two Porsches (Macan and Cayman) are hand washed so they stay good but my wife's Jetta Sportwagen get driven thru a car wash (UGH!!) so it usually requires more work. Don't really complain about doing it since I kicked her out of the garage for my cars. Use mostly Merzerna polishes and have been using Collinite Insulator Wax #845 on the Jetta and it seems to hold up in the Charlotte NC climate.

Been looking at different type of pads but so many choices it gets overwhelming after a while. Do I switch to MF pads or stay with the foam type.? Seen good reviews about Rupes & Flex pads but don't know anything about them and not sure they will work with my buffer. I have used Griots and Mequiars pads but not crazy about them. Do I stay with LC pads but use the thin or Hybrid foam pads? Help please.

    Thanks

    Re: New advise on pads.

MF pads are usually more aggressive, so you probably don't want to stock up on those for minor corrections. My personal preference for pads with a GG6 is the LC ThinPros.
