    Meguiars D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream

Me and my employees wanted to try something new at our auto detailing shop that I run out Maryland for our Full Detail Packages that's we offer which include AIO Polishes/Waxes or Sealants, I decided to buy a gallon of D151 and give it a shot on one of our customers beautiful Toyota Tacoma. I'll run through the steps, beginning to end that we take on our Full Detailing Packages (Exterior Only, won't bother explaining the Interior.)

First off here is what the product looks like in gallon form, it's inexpensive for the amount you get as well. I really liked that since we typically do 1-2 full details a day.

Step One: We pre-wash the tires and rims and use Malco Break Off wheel & rim cleaner (non-acid), we went with this wheel and rim cleaner since the vehicles condition is a 9 on a scale of 1/10, 10 being the cleanest.

Step Two: The vehicle is then pre-soaked to remove any loose dirt and follow up with a medium grade clay bar to remove any Tar or Sap from the vehicles paint. We then foam canon the vehicle with Megs Blue Shampoo and give it a nice proper two bucket treatment to remove any left over dirt/dust/bugs.

Step Three: We then completely dry the entire vehicle with megs waffle weave drying towels along with using a Air Compressor to blow out all cracks and crevices to ensure a freshly dried area to work on.

Step Four: We use a 50/50 water and alcohol mixture to strip and remove all polishes and waxes from the vehicles paint to ensure a fresh work slate for us to work on and tape off all panels to the vehicle before we begin to work.

Step Five: We decided to use a Boss 21 an Boss 15 buffers with LC orange and grey cutting pads to remove all micro swirls and scratches, we will be using our air compressor to clean the pads as we work.

After completing the entire vehicle we where vary happy and please with how easily it was to work with D151, it finishes vary nicely and cleans off the pads just as easy! The amount of money that we paid for the whole gallon of product was worth its weight in gold! 151 works well as a chrome polish also.

151 is great for sure! Here is a hood on a '97 Silverado ( with 402k on it BTW!! ). Used with a G21 and BOSS Cutting pad. There is quite a difference between the worked and unworked half of the hood. This is with 5-6 passes, it was a quick polish on the truck, just a work truck (owner didnt want it polished, but his wife did...she won). The 151 finishes off nice and is VERY easy to wipe off.

I use a lot of D151 and I find that is dusts like crazy! I have to wash the car after polishing with it.
