LC Hydro Tech Pads - Hand Application?

I had a thought as I was taking care of some light isolated scratches. Does anyone use the 3 inch pads for hand applications?
e.g. Cyan cutting pad with UC or equivalent.

The problem with those ^ pads, they have no cut..unlike the LC Hydro Cyan pads.

It will work, but I prefer using a DA even for spot repair.

I've actually used the 5.5" Hydrotech to do some compounding with a hand backer. If I need to do some spot compounding or polishing on the job, I just use the meguiar's applicators, or a dedicated molicrofiber towel.

he mentioned it's to take care of some light isolated scratches. the blue cyan pad is for heavy swirls/oxidation (more aggressive) which would be overkill and may or may not leave some marring behind which would have to be followed up with a lighter foam. it may take a few passes with the megs foam applicator but at least you're working your way up...

Sorry, missed the light scratches part. Saw the compound and thought he needed something aggressive.

Re: LC Hydro Tech Pads - Hand Application?

Thanks guys. I guess the LC boys already thought of using their pads for hand applications. (EZ Grip Hydro-Tech Applicators) Thanks DL. And yes, some times a little extra cut above the typical application pad is necessary, so a pad that is a little more aggressive would be helpful.

Have you ever notice that as soon as you put all your gear away and cleaned your pads, you start to notice the little things you missed? Or do you find yourself constantly inspecting your work, discovering crap in the parking lot of Home Depot or under the lights at the filling station? That's why, if it is really easy, I'll do minor corrections by hand, at home (not at Home Depot LOL).

    Thanks again for your replies.
