Re: Very hard lesson learned today
I have experienced this with strong citrous cleaners, the chemical actually swells the paint and gives the look of orange peel. I would give it a day or two and allow the chemical to evaporate fully and if it still has the appearance of orange peel,
you may need to wetsand and buff it out.

Why not do it early in the morning or late in the evening when there isn't direct sunlight?

Interesting, that would be encouraging, but it doesn't seem like from what I'm seeing. I also sealed the paint so I hope that doesn't prevent any possible outgassing from this. It looks like it took the pattern of the hard water spots from the previous night's rainstorm. I will try my rotary on it since the B-pillar showed some improvement after DA compounding. This is so odd, it's not all over car either just in random spots that were in and out of sunlight. Other spots that were in the sunlight are free from this. :\

Because life's imperfect. I've used Iron-x/Trix on hotter days with no issue before.

Sorry to read this.
I have some spots down one side of my vehicle that might be Iron-X related, I can't say for certain. I haven't tried to do anything about it other then wash with a few different shampoos. I think the Iron-X didn't play well with the coating I have. It was indoors and only left on for 4 minutes. Still very wet when rinsed and washed off.

Sorry to hear about the problem you have. Maybe next time you need to do something like this, search around for a family member or friend who has a garage, or at least some decent shade. Pay it back, shine their ride, dinner, drinks, etc.

I've known people to use coin-ops as well for their water and shade. Just don't do it when there is a line LOL

There is a simple solution to this, but so many people seem to miss it...... wash your car when the sun has set. If there is no sun in the sky, there is no "direct sunlight" to worry about
I wash my car in the evening all the time once my kid goes to sleep. Sure, my neighbors think I am weird, but I can wash the entire car before rinsing and never have issues with water spotting.

I do this as well. Not to mention it's much more comfy to wash when it's not hot outside.
