    BuffnShine Green Foamy?

I just got a good deal on a number of B&S Green foam pads. I know they are polishing but where would you experienced guys 'slot' it in the LC color hierarchy ?

I know LC has a green and it's lighter than white but cuts more than black. Would you say the B&S is the same?

The BnS green pad has a lot of cut for a polishing pad. I'd call it more of a heavy polishing pad.

It lines up with the pink LC CCS.

    I use them to cut.

I would put the green BNS foam right between the white and black foam. It cuts less than a heavy white polishing pad but more than a black foam finishing. Its my go to for HD Speed gloss enhancing polish jobs.

For me, they cut harder than the orange.

Check out my album were I removed 1000 grit with the green foam with Ultimate Compound on a PC.

The pores on the green pads are larger than any other in the range.

Same foam as the former edge 2000 pads, where the green was designated as "medium/light" cut. They eventually released an orange euro foam pads, and many users reported that the green out cut the orange, which was my finding too.

CG also used to designate that foam as a "light cut/heavy polish", but now just call it "heavy polish".

About ten + years ago, the European foams were introduced, and their ability to cut was from their density, or firmness rather than their pore orientation.

The American foams, or filter foams relied more on their pore size, and how thick the pore structure is, to cut.

For me, the stiff pads don't like to contour, and require a lot of pressure comparably get the job done.

I just got my new LC HDO pads, and I already know I'm going to be fighting that new Blue pad, where the original blue foam was softer, and had larger pores - which made it an excellent cutter.

Yes, the blue HDO are very firm and don't really soften. Not the pad you want when using a long stroke DA on non-flat surfaces. Stiffer pads do very well on the 3401.

The 3" HDO pads have the original light blue foam. Maybe I can find some of the original 5.5" HD orbital blue pads somewhere....

Love the B&S green pads. I felt that the green B&S is somewhere between a LC white and orange.
