Gotcha. Half of my co workers live in the Valley.
If you come over the hill, most reputable shops are charging well into the $2k mark for full correction and "Pro" coatings. Even myself, I charge over $1k for full correction and application of consumer grade coating and I Detail out of my home on weekends.

Flawless finish wouldve started at 2k+ again, im sure the installer told you this

All I can say about this post is And if you quoted me those prices this is what I'd do...........

For those prices I could get a high quality repaint any day of the week.

I get it. Can be sticker shock to some people for sure. On a side note, if you can get your painter to paint any of my rides for $2 grand, I'll fly him out and have more cars to paint then he could dream of. lol

In my area no way this is true, and I dont know how Florida could be any better. Is this some sort of joke?

Re: Opti-Coat Pro Applied - Have Questions/Need Help

Whatever the price the detailer charged you for, I think it is the detailer's responsibility to achieve a flawless, or a near flawless finish, before applying the coat.
A coating will seal the defects, and correcting afterwards implies in removing it through heavy polishing.
If the detailer charged low, it is his fault. He made a bad deal, but he has to deliver his best, and prepare the paint prior to coating in the best way he can do it.
Even if I had to pay from my pocket, a car would never leave my premises coated like that.
It is my reputation on the line, a thread on AGO made on top of my poor job, very humiliating and unprofessional.
    My two cents, best regards.

    Maxima777...

Keep us posted on how things are going with your detail. Were you able to achieve a successful conclusion with your detailer?
