I've always just used a waterless wash or whatever QD spray was on hand. None have left a white residue on trim pieces.

I just used cquartz uk on those parts, seems to be holding up well.
I use Infinite Use Detail Juice + Juice Boost for cleaning and protecting my door jambs. Does it all in one step and looks great.

I would use Meguiar's Synthetic X-Press spray wax. Stuff works great I spay it on anything and everything from leather seats to black outer trim and glass. It also leaves an amazing shine on paint and its as easy as wipe on and off
