After reading your post and many like it before it, my biggest question is, if a coating is really a coating then why should it need any "topper" or "refresher". My premise being the alleged longevity of any said coating it should stand on it's own for the time quoted by the manufacturer.

But if you market products that last for "years" then you potentially market yourself out of business.

The other thing I like about your post is many of us just like to apply stuff to our vehicles whether we need to or not.

I just had to get this off my chest as it's kind of an "oxymoron" for an AG'er to coat the car so we don't touch it but we like to top it, wipe on it with detail sprays (silica sprays for coatings) of all different kinds etc.

So for me it's sealants, waxes, and Polish Angel

Thanks for indulging me and top away!!!
the coatings are supposed to protect the car for 2 years or whatever the quoted time is but that doesnt mean they stay glossy for 2 years, thats why people top them to keep them looking fresh. i do agree with you though i like using something every week just about

I’ve heard numerous cases of people topping the coating with 10 min. Too lazy to look it up, but it was recent because the sealant is new.

Yes,I know of quite a few people doing it and it's one of the recommended toppers from Nick. I even think it's been said u can top it right after coating so the car will be better protected if you have a client that needs to drive it away right after the work.

Working well for me on top of Wolfgang coating. Also a good drying aid.

    Old thread...

Only thing I would add is this; what ever drying aid you choose (only reason I would see wanting to TOP a coating), choose a product that is SiO2 based, or you will loose the characteristics of your coating. So Reload, Echo2, or any of these products seems like a good choice.

If someone is using the McKee’s 37 Coating try topping it with McKee’s 37 Hydro Blue if you feel the need to top/repair. I also find the McKee’s 37 SiO2 wash works quite well on these coatings too.

Wash with Mckees sio2 auto wash does a great job enhancing the coating. I also use Echo2 at 1:15 or 1:20 and that works really well .
