    Headlight protection options?

I know this has been asked many times but someone mentioned UV protective properties in carnuaba based wax vs sealant like ULW. Should I finish off my headlight with say megs gold class carnuaba wax or ULW? I haven't heard anything too great about the headlight protectant from megs.

With what you have ULW would be the best way to go.

Agree with Bob. This is a great way to protect one's personal heeadlights. I put it on my previous set of headlights 3 years ago and they still look new til this day. No yellowing of any sort on them. I just put it on my new set of headlights and topped the film with opti-lens.

I coat my '12 Ram head & tail lenses w/ Collinite 845 6-7 times a year, and they look brand new 5 years later.

    Re: Headlight protection options?

I always start with headlight restoration when needed on full details since it such a mess. Once they're perfect. I use wolfgang plastic surface sealant (because I received a bottle for free at some point) Then after the vehicle is finished I always use Optimum Car Wax. Which other than FK1000p once a year on my 2004 dakota, OCW is all I use to maintain it's headlights. I've polished them once VERY LIGHT with Optimum Poli-seal but that was only because of the swirls I've induced over the years when washing. It didn't remove many of the swirls but I am just not willing to get more aggressive with them. On customers cars that have headlights that haven't started to yellow and oxidize, I use opti-seal followed OCW.

I use CarPro DLUX on the headlights and all plastics (including tail lights). Also Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Coating will work just as well.

Personally I would install an Xpel headlight kit and top it with either CQuartz TiO2 or DLUX after, it will be super easy to install and last for years! You can get the film in smoke too
