Re: Wheels off detailing
Looks that bottom rollers are angled keep it leaning less likely to tip over and scratch face....top roller is for wheel to lean on but keep spinning

Re: Wheels off detailing
I did a wheels off on my 88 year old Father's Silver 2005 VW Touareg about 2 months ago. Yeah, in Chicago, and it was not warm, 40's at most.
While this SUV has less than 10K, the inner Barrels were solid rust brown, horrible. The vehicle was clean, had a coat of Opti-Seal. I had finally gotten him new Tires (Hankook) from Pep Boys the month before, yeah, the second set. The original tires were as hard as rock being 15-16 years old.
One by one, off they came. No Jack Stand, but I had no plans of going under for anything.
Two applications of Iron-X, and that only lifted about 80-85% of the crud. Then APC (LA's Awesome, I wasn''t about to spend a fortune on high quality APC.)
Busted my tookass, took 2 days. 2+2 I wanted to coat them with CP DLX, but knew it was just too cold. Used Collinite #845 instead, figuring better than nothing.
Tried that Sonus Motor Coat for the Wheel wells, garbage, a mistake buying that junk, used WG WETS on all plastic wells after full cleaning.
All new Center Caps, (needed them, figure a Dealer jamoch "shop turd" stole his originals at some point, they were beat to hell) How does such get beat on such a low mileage vehicle that resides in a garage 365 days a year? Cleaned gobs of Cosmoline off all Chrome Lug Nut Covers, have to use that stupid little dopey tool that looks like a Hook to pick your nose with that VW throws in the back.
Wheels otherwise were in very nice, almost like new shape considering, and once all cruds were gone. I knew they had potential for looking great again with some work and products.
VW, the most idiotic vehicle I've ever seen in my life bar none. Battery under the driver's seat for one, how user unfriendly and retarded german engineering has gotten.
