Re: $6,000 reasons not to use a automatic car wash
Funny how this story just popped up. Just last weekend i did a white F150 and removed the antenna simply to give me more room with the buffer around the taped base and cleaning the glass.

The hood and fenders on my 16 Mustang are aluminum.

Not that it matters and not really experienced with it but do I see orange peel on it?

I make a lot of money with those that choose that method in getting their car washed.
Bad news

Re: $6,000 reasons not to use a automatic car wash
New business trend here in Jax.
3 companies (gate, goo goo and forget other) have announced plans to build 15 plus stand alone car washes total over the next three years. Seems there is a market for those who want a step up from the gas station quickie but do not want to spend the time on the "let your car go through alone and have porters wipe and vacuum at the end."
Stay with your car. Drive through and vacuum yourself at end if you choose for under $10.
Seems like a lot of competition in a hurry for one market.

Yes it does strip wax.
They use very aggressive soap/cleaners to compensate from using a bucket type wash.
Shouldn't remove a polymer type sealant though.
