Flex PE8
Question about the Flex PE8. It is a rotary not a da, with smaller 3" or less pads, what it the risk of burning through the paint, or leaving buffer trails? I am looking for something smaller to go with my GG6 with 5.5" BOSS pads. I like the iBird Nano, it can't justify the $600 price.

Re: Flex PE8
Youre correct, the pe-8 is a rotary with 1-3" attachments. I guess theres a chance of burning if not careful. I recently sold mine, didnt like the on tirgger. It was awkwardly placed. I ended up getting a nano. I cant place a link but if you pm me I can advise you where to get smaller backing plates for your current machines (gg6)

You can burn through the paint with a PE 8 faster than you can cough if you put it on a faster speed. I practiced with it on junkers and could never get the hang of it. Nano IMO blows it away in terms of versatility and safety.

PE 8 was great for glass polishing and headlights.

Re: Flex PE8
I really liked my PE8. I got an ibird so I'm selling it but it works great. You really don't need high speed to get correction. I let my neighbor use it on the roof of his Honda. He had it on midrange speeds with quite a bit of pressure and didn't do any damage. It's a pretty safe machine, you just have to use common sense.

I like mine, 1",2" & 3" backing plates. starting to see more pad choices. For the small price and size, I'll keep using it.
I run it on 1 only. Plus watch the pad compression.

The PE-8, along with the below
accessories, brings nothing but
pure joy to me.

I can't say enough great things about the Flex PE-8. It's very effective and I wouldn't trade it for anything. The Rupes Nano looks neat and I'm sure it's a great tool too.
