Driver side door not working after detailing

Yesterday I detailed a 2012 Sienna van. Today the customer is telling me that she can't control the door locks or windows from driver side door only. She said she did check to make sure the windows lock was off. I only used steam to clean the door. Anyone have any thought?

So the passenger door controls work? Could be a bad switch. They do go out occasionally. The lock controls all switches except the driver's door.

I had a similar issue with a ford focus and the wipers not shutting off. I also used steam so im thinking that I was on an area to long and got moisture into the switch. im of course paying for the repair

Interesting. I am curious about this as I also use steam for my business. Makes me want to rethink my strategy of how to approach things.

Not to say anyone here was careless to say the least.

I have been in one situation where I was steaming something and all of the sudden I asked myself, "...that didn't look like that two seconds ago." — scratched head —

Unfortunately some things you can't predict no matter how careful.

Bottom line: these are bitter situations that will help us do better for the future.

Blowing it out with compressed air and or drying it with hair dryer would be what I would try. Hope you have success.

Blow it out, first make sure the switch for the sliding doors is on

Was the steamer head wrapped with a towel or was it direct "contact"?

Could be coincidence. Whatever it is see it through and make the customer happy.

Seems to me moisture got into the metal tabs under the buttons therefore no electrical contact.

Thank you all for replying. The customer called me back about 4 hours later and said everything working fine.
I know I forgot to ask her to open the window a little when she got the van home last night. So maybe it was a moisture issue.
