Question Part-Time Detailer needing a definitive AIO or Polish/LSP

    Hello Everyone!

I am a failry new Part-Time Detailer who works in the Refinishing Dept in a body shop during the day. I live in an apartment so my boss is nice enough to allow me 1 work bay for me to use after work hours to do detailing work and can stay there overnight. However, that car must be moved back outside during work hours.

This limited time window makes it difficult to schedule and/or complete extensive paint correcting jobs in a timely manner and/or same day. That being said I believe performing a One-Step Polish with an AIO should be my "main flavor". My personal problem with an AIO is I am reading that durability, without topping, is not the greatest and I wouldn't feel comfortable advertising a 4+mo protection claim. (I currently have, DG 101, Poli-Seal, and lots of GG One-Step Sealant)

I have also thought about using a polish that would have a great cutting and finishing ability, then following up with a dedicated LSP for longer durability. I have the Rupes Line-up along with CG Jetseal, DG 111, and GG BOS Paste Wax.

Does anyone have any recommendations for products or maybe even some scheduling tips? I have been interested in getting McKee's 37 360 AIO as it firmly claims at least 6 months and using GG Orange Pads, Rupes Yellow, or B&S Maroon Pads as my main weapons.

    Thank you!

2 amazing combos that would work well in your situation:

HD Speed. Top with Optimum Car Wax. Easily 4 months protection.

CarPro Essence. Top with Reload. You need to work Essence a bit more than Speed however. A year protection, but beading would be there around 6 months.

Both will yield absolutely amazing results.

Whats great about both these combos is that the topper on each takes literally 10 minutes to apply.

I'd also recommend either HD Speed or Griots Boss line up of creams.
And coll 845 topped with it should last at least 4 months no problem..

360 on a CCS orange pad with a porter cable DA does ok getting rid of some swirls but it takes some work. I've used it 3 times on 3 different vehicles now and I would say I've had 4-5 months out of it.

When I use up my current batch I'll be giving HD speed/poxy a try.

I have a local detailer as well who loves using HD Speed, I was seriously considering that as well. Do you all still recommend waiting 12 hours before applying 845 or other topper? What exactly happens if I apply before the "cure time"? Does it compromise the AIO? Or does the topper not bond to the surface as well and compromise durability?

I guess what I could do is apply the AIO or Polish and try to get to the shop early the next morning and apply the topper if the customer is willing to wait until the next day for pick up.

Another question, what pad do you recommend for HD Speed? I have a Rupes 21 MkII so I'd need a large throw pad.

I use (and like) the following
    AIOs quite a lot:

    Meguiar's M20; Finish Kare's 215;
    and Klasse AIO
    ---all can remove
    light defects---and these products'
    formulations contain "Sealant ingre-
dients" that last a long time.
