Bird Etching Prevention
So...Have a client whos car gets parked in a basement and is prone to being targeted by birds. He doesn't want a car cover as a result of the scratching associated with those. The car has Essence topped with Powerlock topped with Natty's Red and nothing seems to be preventing or standing upto bird crap. Any ideas?

Re: Bird Etching Prevention
I need something more resistant to bird etching. The cars gona inevitably get crapped on, which product is most resilient to being etched?
Car covers, killing birds, changing parking ain't an option. Using a suitable product is.

Re: Bird Etching Prevention
Best thing is a coating perhaps topped with a sealant but even then both are only going to provide enough time for them to notice it and clean it.
Instruct them on how to do that. Keep a small 1-2oz spray bottle like the one for cleaning eyeglasses in the glove box with some paper towels or kleenex.

Great idea, cleaning it off as soon as they see it.

Re: Bird Etching Prevention
My wife's car has the same problem. I did two layers of SiO2 coating, and then I top it with sealant everytime I wash it. There is still etchings, but not as deep.

Re: Bird Etching Prevention
So there isn't something thats strong enough to prevent it completely? On my own car Collinite 915 seems to let nothing penetrate it, maybe Essence topped with WGDGPS and then 915 might help on his car, will try it.
Customer doesn't want any coating of any sort.

vehicles' paint---which is pretty

to provide, for the paint: first-line
protection from bird poop etchings.
•No Wax or Sealant is going to be
tougher than the vehicles' paint.
•The key here then, is:
-Getting the crap off ASAP.
•Sorry, but at this time...

Re: Bird Etching Prevention
Ceramic coating might be your best option. Glosscoat or cquartz. Or of course crystal serum light. Double coat the cars and use a spray sealant of choice. It's working for me so far. I have a triple coat of cquartz uk on my car and I've had bird crap bake on for a day in the hot summer sun on dark blue paint and no issues. Comes right off with a waterless wash mixture, no etchings.

Re: Bird Etching Prevention
Repeat customer who brings the car in often for finishing polish, wax etc. I would have to coat it every few months lol as he won't leave it coated and not have anything done to it after. My demographic or customer base donot care for coatings to be honest.
