Removing Wax Buildup around the cleartastic

I continue to have trouble cleaning the edges of the cleartastic or clear film the factory installs behind the wheel openings to protect the paint. I've tried about everything I can think of but nothing gets the job done....I see it mostly on my black Canyon. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have this on the xterra, but it never posed a issue. I would try a APC with a mf towel.

Run your finger nail along the edge or a toothpick..

Careful. That has the potential to scratch the paint pretty deep. Not an issue when the film is on, but if it's ever removed, you are likely to find a nice deep scratch. This is more of a concern with PPF on places like the hood or bumper

    I use:
Griot's Garage Dried-On Wax Remover, remove dried wax, Griots Garage Wax Remover

    Here's a newer product (I haven't
used it yet) that does looks quite
    promising for your stated task:
McKee's 37 Wax Remover for Plastic 16 oz.

I used to use the Griot's wax remover. Since it came out, I have been using the Wolfgang Uber coating prep solution. It is fantastic!
