So I'm in need of some help here. I left sap, as well as those helicopter things from maple trees sit on my car too long and now I have major etching all over my hood, roof, and trunk that I can't get off. Most of it isn't rough to the touch either, it's pretty smooth on the paint.

Things I have tried so far with not much luck:
- claying some spots (seemed to help after after a lot of work on one area, but it scratched up a little)
- polished with M205 on light cutting pad (helped a little but not much)
-isopropyl alcohol (also helped a little but still left quite a bit, while also scratching the clear slightly)
I have no idea what to use next/how to approach this and I'm starting to get worried. Would next step be compound and heavy cutting pad? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
