Wheel well/undercarriage cleaner?
I am thinking about trying Chemical Guys Bare Bones to clean the wheel wells of my vehicles, but I figured I would see what you guys recommend before I buy anything.
Thanks!

What are your wells made of?
On my Ram, they are smooth black plastic. I just use my car wash medium when I'm done with the rest of the truck, only with an old MF towel.

I think my F150 is a combination of plastic and cloth...girlfriends Escape is all plastic I think. Something that works for both would be great.

Ahh, yeah. A guy I work with has a '15 Chevy truck w/ the same thing. Looks like black outdoor carpet.
Crap, I don't have an answer for that, CC.
But, I'm sure another AG member does.

Re: Wheel well/undercarriage cleaner?
I usually use a degreaser and brush to clean my wheel wells then use barebones as a dressing to make the wheel wells shine

Re: Wheel well/undercarriage cleaner?
I have Megiuars APC maybe that is my best option with the wheel well brush...

Re: Wheel well/undercarriage cleaner?
I would just try any regular APC diluted at the 10:1 dilution in a spray bottle instead of any specific products for it, I don't think your wheel wells and undercarriage necessarily require that much different care than say the rest of your car in terms of product use.

Re: Wheel well/undercarriage cleaner?
I use Megs APC and a couple of brushes for my wheel wells. Fronts are black plastic and rears are that "noise deadening" carpet stuff. All sorts of stuff get stuck in these carpets after 6 days of driving.

Re: Wheel well/undercarriage cleaner?
what i usually do is use the pressure washer to blast the junk out and dirt out of there. If it needs to be cleaned i like to use meguires non acid wheel cleaner. Give it a quick spray, let it soak, old microfiber to scrub it, rinse
to make it look shiny i just give it a couple sprays of meguires pro tire dressing (diluted 3:1)
gives me just the right amount of shine, but makes the wheel well plenty black
Underside of the vehicles ive used a degreaser (simple green) diluted
to make it look black and shiny i used a product i get locally, its very similar to CG barebones
Or WD40 works great in a pinch. (also provides rust protection and beads water LOL)
just dont get wd40 on your brakes of course
