    Re: Opti seal alternatives

You know, it's not my usual, but after a couple of weeks of severe thunderstorms, high heat and parking in an industrial dust area, I am really impressed with Scholls Concepts SW20 spray sealant. The rain rinses it off clean and shiny.
Why did the Geek torture me with the sample...and now it's "not currently available." I can still love and have confidence in Duragloss Aquawax.

I stick with the Opti-Seal. I do also like the Gloss Coat but that is a coating in my mind and not a "sealer". I use a Hydro2 like product (Permanon) on my wheels and it works really well on wheels. I also am a wax guy so I like that as a sealant as well.y

If I use opti seal as a dry aid I never get the cloudy look on my paint and almost all of the benefits.

Lately for me(and today) it has been opti-seal as a drying aid.
I'm still in the honeymoon phase after 4 months but it could be the real thing this time
Do you always use it as a drying aid or do you apply it with the foam applicator?

Never have used it as a drying aid. Always with a foam applicator. The most important thing I learned when I first started using it, a little goes a long way.

UPGP beads well and perhaps better looking that OS, but the beads do not run off the paint very well. You can pop your hood with water beads all over it and the beads will sit there on an almost vertical panel.

I use OS regularly on the door/trunk/hood jambs. No residue to worry about in all the cracks and crevices.

    Re: Opti seal alternatives

Sorry to rehash an older thread, but...

I have been contemplating CarPro Hydro2 for a bit lately. But in the end Opti-Seal I find is a great value.

I think I have a hard time trying something different because I love the versatility it offers.

Has anyone ever went from Opti-seal to Carpro hydro2 and said, “Nah, I’ll stick with Opti-seal instead because of ‘xyz’.”

    Or

“DANNGGGGGG, Hydro2 blows Opti-seal out of the waters!”

I want to try Hydro2. But because of being mobile, there are no guarantees that I can use it out of the sun all the time.

    Thoughts anyone?
